We thought that we were making music with a message.

You have made it a MOVEMENT!

We have a bunch of exciting news, including your first chance to hear a full song! Read on!
THANK YOU to the over 750 people from 45 states and 12 countries who have joined this movement, helping us raise over 500% of our original goal, telling friends, and sending words of solidarity, love, and encouragement.

“We are so low, but soon we know that the low folk will arise”

Imagine the power of a march on Washington with 10,000 people marching and singing out against “the tyrants in their towers of gold!”

Together, we are starting the SONG ON THE TIMES movement;  Wherever there is intolerance, hate, injustice, we want to be there to stand up, sing out, and fight back! As part of this we want to s raise enough to print 10,000 copies of music to distribute across the country for people to learn these songs! You can help.

“But every heart shall hear the call!”

“Can you imagine fifty people a day, walking in, singing a bar of Alice’s restaurant, and walking out? Friends, they may think it’s a movement!”

-Arlo Guthrie
In fact, 50 people a day have been supporting Song on the Times, but we know there are many more folks out there who believe in this message. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to reach them all, but we bet you can! Musical movements requires personal outreach! If each of you is able to get two close friends involved, we will be able to distribute the first 10,000 copies of the sheet music to groups nationwide. Let's make it happen

Book Upgrade:

To save money we planned to make a hundred or so very simple homemade books ourselves, which is obviously no longer the plan. Luckily, the the demand for Song on the Times is so great that we will be upgrading to some beautiful professionally sewn-bound songbook!

“And The People will be free!”

You can hear the full song we sang at Trump Tower on the Mike Harding Folk Show. You can listen to the show HERE! (1:18:30)

In song, solidarity, and gratitude,
Jeremy, Lauren, Will, and Lynn

Windborne in Washington for Women!

We are in DC today, marching in solidarity and song, not only with women around the country and the world today, but with all the women who have come before and fought for a better world.
To that end, we will be singing "Bread and Roses," a song that takes inspiration from women striking at textile factories in Lawrence, MA in 1912. Today, as then, we fight to thrive, not only to survive!
If you want to follow along on Twitter or instagram, please find us there!

Thank you for your support, and wherever you are today, sing out!

Love,
Jeremy, Will, Lynn, and Lauren

We reached Stretch Goal #2!

Last night we made it to $8,000 enabling us to make a crankie theater and video for the project! We have been so touched and humbled by the incredible response to these songs, not only among our friends and community, but from all over the country and the world! (Backers from 10 countries!) Thank you to all of you for contributing and for continuing to share with your communities! We never thought so many folks would want the book! Which brings us to....

Goal #3: $13,000 Production and Promotion!

This huge response has made us realize that many more people want this music and songbook than we initially thought, bring opportunities and challenges. We are now hoping to get to $13,000 to be able to have a budget to promote Song on the Times more widely, as well as to hire help in the physical production of so many books! We also really want to send copies of Song on the Times to a number of our favorite progressive leaders, including Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and others. Help us bring this project to the next level!

Stretch Goal: $8000 Cranky Theater and Video!

If we can raise $8000, we will build a cranky theater (see beautiful example of what this is here) and be able to create beautiful live art performance, as well as include another great artist! We will then make a music video of the project for all of you wonderful backers!  We've been thinking that the powerful "Song of the Lower Classes" would be perfect for the crankie format, and with your help we can bring it to life. You can see us singing the final verse in protest at Trump Tower here.
THANK YOU for your support and please keep spreading the word!

Stretch Goal #1 Unlocked: Extra song+binding upgrade!

Thanks to your generosity we will be able to add an extra song with accompanying music and wordsheet art to go with it! We will also be able to print the songbook on high quality paper and hand-bind them with classy red thread!

Thank you all so much for making a difference in the world and helping our dreams come true!

100 CONTRIBUTORS!! To celebrate, we went and sang one of the new pieces, Song of the Lower Classes in protest at Trump Tower. It's a great melody by Ian Robb of Finest Kind, with a mix of traditional words and Windborne's original ones! This verse is one of ours. https://www.facebook.com/jeremydance/videos/10208633841623836/ Please keep sharing and letting your friends know. The more we raise, the more we can do! In particular, we want to record Fire in the Hole, a great miners' striking song we learned from the singing of Hazel Dickens. Help us get to $6500 so we can! Thank you, Lauren, Jeremy, Will, and Lynn
