Latest Updates from Our Project:

Dear Song on the Times backers,

As you may have seen, we were able to extend our Indiegogo for our upcoming album, Of Hard Times & Harmony, for an additional month, and now that time is drawing to a close. Our campaign officially ends TONIGHT (Dec 17) at midnight PST, so if you have been waiting to pre-order our new album, this is your moment!

https://www.indiegogo.com/at/of-hard-times-harmony-windborne-s-new-album/x/4607462/fin

We know many of you have already backed this project, and we want to say a huge THANK YOU for that! You helped us reach our original fundraising goal, and for those of you who are wondering why you should back our project now, here are a few reasons:

-First and foremost: you are supporting four people who make their living as artists, and who, like so many others, have been out of work since March. Despite the cancelation of so many gigs and tours, we are committed to bringing you this album because we believe in the power of music to uplift, inspire, and unite.

-Pre-ordering means you'll get the music as soon as it's ready! We are in the thick of editing, mixing, and mastering the tracks, and they sound fantastic! We hope to have the final audio to send out by the end of the month, exclusively for our Indiegogo supporters!

-The perks of our campaign won't last forever! Are you interested in a signed, limited edition copy of the album, an online voice lesson, an art print from the album, or a virtual house concert? Those are just some of the many perks you can get at different levels of support for this campaign that won't be available once the album comes out!

-Even though the CD isn't ready yet, you can still give it as a gift this holiday season! We have designed a "Windborne IOU Certificate" that we will send out to project backers in the next few days for you to print out and wrap up for your loved ones!

Thanks again to all of you for your support of Windborne over the years! We look forward to the time when we can see you in person once more.

With gratitude,

Lauren, Jeremy, Lynn, and Will

Hello friends,

Please accept our apologies if you're getting this message from multiple sources, but we wanted to make sure we got the corrected info out there for our Livestream Concert tonight. We encounted some tech trouble on Tuesday during our test run and had to change the links for our concert, so here are the CORRECTED LINKS:

Watch on Facebook:
Facebook.com/WindborneSingers/posts/10157859926890547

If you can't make it tonight, the concert will be online for about a week so you can watch it at your convenience! After that, we will move it to our Patreon page.

Also, today is the FINAL DAY of our campaign for our next album, Of Hard Times & HarmonyWe are so close to meeting our fundraising goal, and we think you will love the album--as a follow-on to Song on the Times, it is another collection of songs with a message of social justice and fighting for a better world. It includes many audience favorites like When I'm Gone  (Phil Ochs), Lady of the Harbor (Joe Jencks), Pie in the Sky (Joe Hill), and Viva La Qunice Brigada (which was popularized in the English-speaking world largely through Pete Seeger). Like Song on the Times, it will also come in a book with art, lyrics, and essays to contextualize and complement the music.

We know many of you have already pre-ordered your copies, and we are so grateful for your support! If you haven't had a chance to check it out, now is the time! Find Of Hard Times & Harmony here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/of-hard-times-harmony-windborne-s-new-album/x/4607462

THANK YOU to all of you for your support over the past three years, and we hope to see you at the concert tonight!

In song and solidarity,

Lauren, Lynn, Will, and Jeremy

Hello, friends!

We hope that Song on the Times continues to be a source for inspiration and reflection, and we want to thank you again for backing that project. Your support in 2017 gave us the confidence to put aside our other endeavors, and tomorrow marks the three-year anniversary of the first concert we gave after deciding to launch into doing music full-time! Since then, we've toured all over the US, with international forays to Canada, France, and the UK, and we've been delighted to meet many of you face to face.

Now, of course, all touring is on pause, but we have two exciting things that we want to share with you today:

#1: The Indiegogo campaign for Of Hard Times & Harmony ends on Thursday!

We hope you will check out Of Hard Times & Harmony, our next album (that also comes with a book!) of songs with a message of social change and justice. It features some of our most-requested arrangements, like When I'm Gone and Lady of the Harbor, and well as tracks in four languages. If you loved Song on the Times, this album is a perfect sequel to add to your collection!

#2: LIVESTREAM CONCERT: Wednesday, November 18, 8pm EST

This concert will feature music from Of Hard Times & Harmony, as well as debut a brand-new parody video! It's a song honoring the baking pastime that has kept many of us busy during the pandemic, and you can see a teaser clip here

Watch the concert on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/WindborneSingers/posts/10157848249420547

Watch the concert on YouTube: https://youtu.be/D3xWb5PkK4o

Since 8pm EST is late, particularly for those of you in the UK and Europe, we will leave the concert up for a week or so, then move it to our Patreon page (where you also get exclusive tracks, a peek behind the scenes at our work, and early access to new videos!).

As always, we are very grateful for your support.

In song and solidarity,

Lauren, Jeremy, Lynn, and Will

(Sorry for second email, link was broken!)

Dear Song on the Times Backers,

Its hard to believe that it's been almost 4 years since we stood outside (T)rump tower and sang Song of the Lower Classes in the snow! As we approach November (GO VOTE!) the words of that song still ring clear, "We are so low, but soon we know that the low folk will arise.." You know how is it goes from there (or you can always return and watch!)

Now we are launching a new project, and hoping you will continue supporting music with a message!

It's hard to express our gratitude for the outpouring of encouragement support we got from that video. Your support for that project enabled us to spend the last 3.5 years dedicating ourself to that mission of spreading this message through music across the country and the world. We've brought our harmonies to schools and choirs, protests and concert halls, visiting 25 states and 5 countries, and reaching thousands of people.

Now we are launching our next project, "Of Hard Times & Harmony" and asking for your support!

Of Hard Times & Harmony is an album of critique, activism, inspiration, and introspection. With 14 tracks in four languages, it will come in a CD-sized hardcover book with lyrics, art, and essays to accompany each piece. These arrangements represent the product of years of singing together almost every day, intimately learning each others voices and discovering how to use the power of vocal harmony to form something beyond the component parts. You can find out more about the project here: igg.me/at/WindborneHT

We need your support to make this dream a reality. We know you believe in the importance of music with a message to shine a light in the darkness, and if you will join us once again we will be able to keep singing-even in a time when we are apart. We were singing before Trump got to the White House, and we are ready to sing him out. Please do join us!
In harmony and gratitude,

Windborne

Hello, friends!

There's a long update below, but first and foremost, we wanted to make sure that you knew that we have new music up on Spotify (and everywhere you stream music), including all the music from the Song on the Times album, now available for your listening pleasure wherever you go!

---

Unbelievably, this month marks the three-year anniversary of Song on the Times, and you are a huge part of that story. THANK YOU for being part of our journey into being full-time musicians--these past three years have been a wild ride!

As you know, three years ago in January 2017, we launched Song on the Times on Indiegogo. We expected to have a handful of backers from our communities around New England and to make a few hundred books, which we were going to bind by hand, sewing them with red thread. Lynn had already bought some book-binding materials! A few days into our campaign, we took a short selfie video outside Trump Tower before a gig in NYC, and not in our wildest dreams had we imagined how that would unfold.

By the time our Indiegogo closed, we had over 2,600 backers from all 50 states and 22 other countries. People were emailing us, asking when we would bring our music and message to their area, and we decided to answer that call. We ordered 5,000 books (which we did NOT sew ourselves!), rearranged our lives, and in November 2017, we set off for a short tour in Michigan, which marked our first concerts as full-time musicians. Upon returning, we did a fabulous run of shows with Christmas Celtic Sojourn in Boston--Brian O'Donovan, the host and producer, found us because of our Trump Tower video!

In 2018, we ventured to the west coast for the first time, with a whirlwind tour from LA to Seattle and back again in under 3 weeks. SO MUCH DRIVING... We went back to the UK for our third tour there, performed and led workshops all over the midwest and east coast, taught several school residencies, played a few festivals, and had another great run with Christmas Celtic Sojourn. We also attended our first music industry conference, a regional event called NERFA (New England Regional Folk Alliance), where we made lots of new connections with venues and other artists.

2019 highlights include another (way less hectic) west coast tour, a packed month in the midwest, attending FARM (Folk Alliance Region Midwest), lots of east coast touring, performing at the Gala Concert for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Village Harmony, guest lecturing and presenting at Dartmouth, MIT, Michigan State, University of Chicago, launching our Patreon page, and, oh yeah: reordering another 5,000 copies of Song on the Times! We are also thrilled to share that we topped the Folk Radio DJ Chart in December, with #1 Artist and #2 Album! That album, called Recollections | REVOLUTIONS, is what you'll find on Spotify--it's a re-release for radio and streaming of our last two albums, including the music from Song on the Times!

The new year brings with it lots of new opportunities: next week, we're headed to New Orleans for Folk Alliance International (FAI), which is like the regional conferences we've done but with 3000 people. We're honored to have been selected as Official Showcase Artists! Shortly thereafter, we head to England for several weeks, and we're in the midst of planning our first tour to the southern states (so if you live down south, keep an eye on our website for a show near you!).

If you've made it this far through the update, congratulations, and thank you again! If you want to keep in touch, like us on Facebook or follow us on Instagram (@windbornesingers). We're also putting up more videos on our YouTube channel and of course, there's always our website, which is the best place to find our upcoming concerts. We are so grateful for your support, and we hope to see you down the road.

In harmony,

Lauren, Lynn, Jeremy, and Will
